特殊色雖然亮眼，但後續的維持與保養同樣關鍵。魯魯王特別強調，居家保養最基本的觀念是「不要一染完就急著使用補色洗」，而是等顏色褪到自己不喜歡的階段，再開始使用補色洗髮精。因為部分補色產品在使用後，顏色反而會比剛染完更深，如果擔心顏色過於濃重，也可以透過加水或混合一般洗髮精的方式進行稀釋，讓顏色更自然。
